Job Title: Curriculum Developer and Lead Trainer in digital literacy and online-freelancing skills
Location: Fully remote
Nairobi or Paris based applicants preferred
Direct Supervisor and Reports : Reports to International Programs and Partnerships Manager. No direct reports.
Organization and Team: Konexio is a digital skills training NGO based in France, with programs in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Konexio’s international team is fully remote, with team members in Paris, Nairobi, and Taipei. This position is part of the International team and remotely serves project sites in Africa and the Middle East. Konexio International partners with on-the-ground organizations for project implementation.
Princaple Missions: The Curriculum Developer and Trainer remotely serves project sites in Africa and the Middle East. The principle missions include :
● developing Konexio’s technical skills curricula, learner evaluation tools, and online Learning
Management System (Crossknowledge)
● training trainers
● researching trends in online freelance work and transforming those insights into new curricula
Responsibilities: Create technically-focused curricula
- Create session slides, exercises, and learner
evaluations from scratch
- Regularly update existing curricula
- Research job market needs for low and middle skills

- Analyze Konexio’s program data to understand levers
for successful outcomes, and create new curricula to enhance these levers
Manage and develop Konexio’s online Learning Management System (LMS)
- Develop new tools on the LMS platform to increase student and trainer engagement, streamlined
-program delivery, and enable learner evaluation
- Maintain and update the LMS platform by uploading new course content, organizing content, etc
Remotely train trainers from Konexio’s client organizations (blended training may be an option as the situation allows)
- Train trainers Intensively for 8-12 weeks
- Guide trainers in usage of Konexio course material/ systems/ tools
- Capacity building: Support program setup and trainers throughout training of students
Main Contacts:
Internal : International Programs and Partnerships Manager, Programs Specialist, International Dev/comms coordinator. Bilingual French/ English candidates will also engage occasionally with the French-speaking curriculum development team in Paris.
External : Implementing Partners - Programs staff, including trainers, coordinators, and project managers.
Workplace Conditions:
Location: REMOTE. Nairobi or Paris based applicants preferred.
- If local to a project site, opportunities for blended in-person and remote work may be possible
- Be present online Monday through Friday during regular working hours, and flexibility to take calls during off-hours to accommodate global time zones
- Candidate must have access to a professional-grade computer with videoconferencing, high quality internet, and call-friendly work space
This role is split across project sites in Kenya, Malawi, and Jordan with potential project sites in each country. Other countries and project sites may be added. The working language is English, and native fluency, especially for technical terms, is required. Advanced French bilingualism is highly preferred.
Work Experience:
7-9 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in two or more of the following:
- Technical writing and curriculum development for technical subjects; management and development of online learning platforms
- Teaching experience in a technical field, in continuing education, capacity building, or teacher training
- Online freelancing for digital jobs
- Partnership management
1+ years of experience in an online workplace
- Proficient in digital tools such as Asana (project management software) and G Suite
- Able to troubleshoot technical challenges independently
- Able to collaborate with colleagues via online tools
Previous background in non-profits or social enterprises a plus.
Previous experience with online freelancing, especially Upwork and Fiverr, a plus.

- Curriculum development / pedagogy best practices, especially for digital learning
- Technical aptitude and technical writing, strong ability to self-teach new digital tools, and then break down potentially complex technical skills into learnable content. High attention to detail, ability to copy edit.
- Teacher training; passionate about teaching and student outcomes
- Partnership management; demonstrated experience in an external, partner-facing role
- Desk research and analysis; able to identify job market trends as they relate to low/ mid level digital skills
- Online Learning Management System (LMS) management and development of new platform tools
- Able to use CrossKnowledge (Konexio’s LMS) a plus Soft Skills
- Demonstrated clarity and responsiveness in verbal and written communication; international cross-cultural experience a strong plus
- Self starter, organized, and independent
- Grounded, able to self-advocate and manage partnerships
- Agile and problem solving mindset, focused on results rather than processes
- Familiarity with needs of non-traditional learners and vulnerable populations
- Able to excel in an online, remote workplace
Language
- Fluent in English
- Advanced French highly preferred
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Technical Writing or related field, Master’s Degree a plus, additional experience accepted in lieu / place of a Master’s Degree.
